Position Summary:

The Firefighter/Paramedic role involves performing technical tasks and labor essential for protecting life and property from various emergencies. This position utilizes diverse firefighting and emergency medical techniques and equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and adhering to all district rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborating with crew members to create a harmonious work environment.
  • Maintaining professionalism and setting exemplary standards.
  • Committing to the district’s improvement and engaging in community relations.
  • Ensuring effective communication skills and report preparation.

Daily and General Duties:

  • Transitioning between shifts effectively, maintaining readiness for inspections and calls.
  • Conducting routine checks and maintenance of firefighting equipment and apparatus.
  • Preparing various operational reports and ensuring the readiness of emergency response tools and vehicles.
  • Participating in training, station maintenance, community engagement, and emergency response activities.

Emergency Response:

  • Strategically responding to emergencies, ensuring safety and compliance with traffic regulations and operational protocols.
  • Executing technical and manual tasks to manage and mitigate emergencies effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Paramedic certification and advanced life support qualifications.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Meeting the physical and linguistic requirements for the role.

Desired Additional Qualifications:

  • Advanced educational degrees and certifications in firefighting and emergency services.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Adaptable to various environments and emergency scenes.
  • Capable of performing strenuous activities under challenging conditions.
  • Complying with safety standards to minimize risks associated with hazardous materials, infectious diseases, and extreme conditions.

2024 Salary Range:

  • $86,751 to $119,657.
