Chief Gilchrist was promoted to Battalion Chief in March of 2025. Born and raised in Washington State, Jana’s journey in the fire service began with her education at paramedic school, which ultimately led her to Colorado. Shortly after completing her training, she seized the opportunity to test for a position with North Washington Fire, where she was offered a role as a Paramedic Firefighter.

With 23 years of dedicated service in the fire industry, Jana has held various ranks including Paramedic Firefighter, Fire Lieutenant, and Fire Captain. She also served as the Interim Training Chief for a year, showcasing her leadership and commitment to training within the department. Jana holds an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency management.
