Accreditation & Strategic Plan

CFAI Accreditation

Adams County Fire Rescue ISO Class 1 badge, 2019-2024, CFAI accreditation.

On August 29th, 2019, Adams County Fire Protection District received Accredited Agency status with The Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) for meeting the criteria established through the CFAI’s voluntary self-assessment and accreditation program. At the time, Adams County Fire Protection District was just one of  250 agencies worldwide to achieve Internationally Accredited Agency status with the CFAI and the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Inc. Adams County Fire Protection District also joined just a handful accredited agencies also with an ISO rating of Class 1 in the state of Colorado. The agency was reaccredited in the fall of 2024, and became just one of 326 accredited agencies worldwide, and one of 123 departments worldwide to have accredited status and an ISO I rating.

So, what does that mean for the citizens of Adams County? It means ACFR is continuously committed to an agency wide culture of constant improvement. It means our agency is dedicated to excellence in our community by providing transparency with tangible data and information. It’s important to note the CFAI Accreditation process was voluntary, and gave our agency a chance to work with a team of peers from other agencies to help make us better.

Community Risk Assessment

This Community Risk Assessment (CRA) document serves as the process for assessing our community hazards, vulnerabilities, and risks. The Standards of Cover (SOC) is a comprehensive document that defines the district’s capabilities, resources, and response times. It also identifies our community’s hazards and risks, as well as our response strategies to keep our community as safe as possible.  ACFR is continually evaluating our service to our community, researching the latest tactical improvements, apparatus, and equipment to better serve our citizens.
