Every year, the week before Thanksgiving, Adams County Fire Rescue takes part in Operation Freebird. The event is put on by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office with generous assistance from many people in the community. Operation Freebird provides a complete Thanksgiving meal for those in need along with health screenings and other community services that are offered. In past years, ACFR has participated in this community event by showing children the value of having smoke detectors in their homes along with sharing other safety tips. We also team up with Mile High RETAC to teach the community CPR and the use of AEDs.
